Compare four popular Carta 2 glass top styles—wet top, tree perc, freezable dry top, and midnight pulse—to find the right dab rig top for your sessions.
Quick answer
For the smoothest, coolest vapor from your Carta 2, the DiscoBox Carta 2 Wet Top delivers superior diffusion, while the Focus V Freezable Dry Top offers extreme cooling without water. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize flavor preservation or icy hits.
Why glass top style matters for your Carta 2
The glass top you pair with your Carta 2 vaporizer directly affects vapor temperature, flavor intensity, and draw resistance. A wet top uses water to filter and cool vapor, while a dry top relies on air path design or active cooling like glycerine. Each style changes the experience significantly, so matching the top to your preference is key.
Key differences in percolation and cooling
Percolation style determines how much surface area the vapor contacts. The Toxic Glass 8 Arm Tree Perc creates many small bubbles for efficient diffusion, which can smooth the hit but may reduce flavor slightly. The DiscoBox Wet Top is handblown and uses a simpler water path, offering a balance of cooling and taste. The Focus V Freezable Dry Top uses glycerine that you freeze beforehand, providing extreme cooling without any water filtration at all.
Trade-offs at a glance
- DiscoBox Carta 2 Wet Top (Ghost): Handblown borosilicate glass wet top. Uses water for classic filtration. Price: $125.76 (compare at $169.95). Best for users who want artisan quality and reliable water cooling, but the higher price and limited production may not suit budget shoppers.
- Toxic Glass Carta Top: 8 Arm Tree Perc Blue: Mastermind glass top with 8 arm tree percolator. Price: $53.57 (compare at $79.95). Great value for smooth hits through multi-stage diffusion, though the tree perc can be harder to clean thoroughly.
- Focus V: IC Glass Freezable Dry Top Carta (Pink): Freezable glycerine dry top for extreme cooling without water. Price: $48.77 (compare at $79.95). Ideal for users who want icy vapor without water, but requires pre-freezing and may not suit those who prefer traditional water filtration.
- King Pluto Carta Top: Midnight Pulse: Mastermind brand glass top with a midnight pulse finish. Price: $96.57 (compare at $139.95). A stylish option for those who prioritize aesthetics, but its percolation details are unspecified, so cooling performance is less predictable.
